WEEK OF FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING ANNOUNCED IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, 28 April (AzerTAc). “A week of fight against trafficking in humans” from May 1 to 6 was announced in Azerbaijan during a conference organized Wednesday by the OSCE Baku Office, Interior Ministry, local and international NGOs
Addressing the conference, Head of the OSCE Baku Office Ali Bilge Cankorel noted thousands of people become victims of human trafficking every year. He pointed out Azerbaijan government had prepared national action plan to combat human trafficking. Cankorel praised Azerbaijan`s progress in this area.
Also speaking to the conference were Javad Shikhaliyev, Interior Ministry`s department, head of the Baku office of the International Migration Organization Vasiliy Yujnin, program manager of the International Labour Organization Elnur Nasibov, Director of the Azerbaijan Migration Center Alovsat Aliyev.
Speakers at the meeting told of the international fight against human trafficking and joint cooperation against it.
