2nd Int’l Muslim Women Confab wraps up its work

Tehran, April 28, IRNA – The Second International Muslim Women Conference, which had started its work on April 25, with participation of 20 women think-tanks from 19 countries, wrapped up its activity on Tuesday afternoon.

In the conference dubbed; “Woman, Family and Islamic Civilization,” the axis role of media was underlined.

The event included 12 panels of discussion and presentation of 20 foreign articles as well as seven articles from Iran.

In a final report, the rapporteur of the conference , said that “ media and satellite roles in educating children, weakness of media designers' points of view and western media efforts to create consumption culture in Muslim countries were among the most important topics of the conference.

Head of the cultural commission of Majlis Gholamali Haddad Adel, spouse of President A’zam as-sadat Farrahi, Head of the Culture and Islamic Communication Organization and Advisor to the President Mehdi Mostafavi and member of parliament (Majlis) Laleh Eftekhari were among speakers of the conference.

In the final statement more presence of Muslims in the media arena and effective roles of woman in preventing family cultural changes were underlined./end
