Pakistani journalist praises Iran's technological progress

Islamabad, April 28, IRNA - Senior Pakistani Journalist Nadeem Malik on Tuesday praised technological advancement in Iran urging other Islamic states to make progresses in the field of science and technology to offset the monopoly of the West.

Speaking to IRNA, Malik said that Iran has become a role model for the Muslim world and the Ummah should help Iran in this regard.

“Despite tough sanctions, Iran has been progressing a lot in the field of science and technology which is highly commendable,” he said.

Iran’s Telecommunication Minister Reza Taghipour had said earlier that the country would launch new satellites capable of transmitting data and images by March next year.

Malik said that the satellite technology would play an important role in the times to come. “It is good to see that Iran has entered into the satellite technology”, added the journalist.

He said he believed positive impact of sanctions for countries was that they always give boost to the progress of the sanctioned states.

“Countries under pressure always progress a lot”, he opined.

Touching upon the issue of sanctioning Iran, the analyst said that it was probably not possible to get favorable results by imposing sanctions.

Malik added that the West was highly biased towards Iran’s nuclear program despite knowing the fact that Iran had the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful means.

“We Support Iran’s right to have nuclear energy for peaceful means but the issue should be dealt according to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations”, the journalist said.

He added that Iran's nuclear program was peaceful and the country is not to develop nuclear weapons as shown by the available evidence.

He believed that Iran has been fully cooperating with the IAEA giving a free hand to its inspectors to visit the countries nuclear facilities./end
