MEETING OF THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS OF RUSSIA AND CAUCASUS HELD IN BAKU
Baku, April 27 (AzerTAc). In the frame of the Baku Summit of the world religious leaders, a meeting among the Head of the Caucasian Muslims` Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and the Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II took place here on 26 April.
Underlining special importance of the meeting held in the frame of Summit, Patriarch Kirill noted that last years in negotiations on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict there were positive steps. The Patriarch especially noted efforts of the heads of states of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and also mediation of the President of Russia in this point in question.
As was noted, such meetings support the efforts of political leaders.
After the trilateral meeting among the Head of the Caucasian Muslims` Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and the Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II, the parties have signed a Joint Declaration.
The document states that the potential of the religion urging for peace and patience, should bring to reconciliation. Joint efforts of religious leaders will put an end to international enmity. According to the religious leaders, of great value is to prevent military settlement of the question. “We will support hope of the people for elimination of the enmity”, the leaders declared.
Religious leaders have noted they support the international efforts on conflict settlement, importance of expansion of dialogue with a view of strengthening of mutual trust to reach peace and peaceful co-existence.
