Speaker: Tabas, symbol of Iran resistance against US
Yazd, April 26, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Sunday that Tabas, in the central province of Yazd, is a symbol of the Iranian nation’s resistance against the US.
Larijani made the remarks upon arrival in the Tabas airport and in the presence of provincial and local officials.
Larijani said the people in this region are proud of the US defeat in Tabas on April 25, 1980, which was symbolized. The Majlis speaker said the "great satan" (US), is always terrified of the event.
On Iran’s peaceful nuclear issue, the speaker said “they just jump to impose economic sanctions against the country,” adding that it indicates that they are incapable of facing Iran by other means.
The Majlis speaker arrived in Tabas Sunday to commemorate the anniversary of the event in that region./end
