AZERI DIPLOMAT ADDRESSES SANTA–BARBARA COLLEGE`s STUDENTS
Baku, April 23 (AzerTAc). Consul general of Azerbaijan to Los-Angeles Elin Suleymanov has delivered a speech at California`s Santa–Barbara college.
He spoke of Azerbaijan`s contribution to the dialogue among civilizations and centuries-old traditions of tolerance.
The diplomat also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying the United States, increasing efforts, could contribute to settling the dispute.
Suleymanov pointed out, the policy of ethnic expansionism and ideology of chauvinism must be abandoned to achieve successful and stable future for the region.
As for the strategic importance of the region in terms of U.S long-term interests, the diplomat expressed Azerbaijan`s readiness to expand equal partnership with Washington.
He pointed out successful regional policy should be pursued on the basis of strategic cooperation and must exclude double standards.
