Media countrywide learn about A/H1N1 vaccination campaign
VIENTIANE, 22 APRIL (KPL) - More than 70 local media and medical officials yesterday gathered in Vientiane Capital at the Orientation for Media 17 provinces H1N1 Vaccination Campaign to upgrade the HINI virus.
Mr. Vayolinh Phasavath, Deputy Head Office of the Ministry of Information and Culture said the opening ceremony that the participants would learn the current information on A/H1N1 influenza, the risk of A/H1N1 virus ranging from the use of technical vocabulary for report, the quality of A/H1N1 Vaccine and the government’s strategy on the utility of the A/H1N1 vaccine.
The media and medical staff could comprehend the background of A/HINI virus and each phase of outbreak and even the quality of A/H1N1 vaccine which it will be tested with the risky group in Laos.
“As we have known this type of vaccine just arrived in Laos and it will be given to the risky group of pregnant women and person living with own chronic diseases. This includes hearted, kidney, diabetes, immunes complex and cancer diseases,” Mr Vayolinh explained. “This vaccine is new thing for Lao people so he urged local media to publish information on vaccines to local people not to be afraid of its high cost.”
The A/H1N1 vaccine will be served free of charge in the central, provincial and district hospitals.
