TURKISH PREMIER MAKES THINGS CLEAR ABOUT AZERBAIJAN-RELATED TALKS
Ankara, April 18 (AzerTAc). Armenia proposed to open Turkey-Armenia border, keeping Nagorno-Karabakh issue out of the normalization process, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Kanal 24 TV channel.
“I asked them why borders were closed in 1993. Without settling this issue, parliament will not pass the protocols. We need to achieve a consensus, which is coupled with Azerbaijan. The activity of the Minsk Group must be intensified. I discussed this issue in the US with Barack Obama, Dmitry Medvedev, and during my France trip with Nicolas Sarkozy. They have not been able to achieve progress over the past 20 years,” said Erdogan.
Turkish Premier also voiced his protest over US`s not inviting Azerbaijan to the nuclear summit in Washington.
“Mrs. Clinton said she made a telephone call to esteemed Ilham Aliyev to explain the situation,” he said.
Erdogan pointed out there will be no problems with the so-called “Armenian genocide” in US on April 24.
