AZERBAIJANI SOCIETY WORRIED ABOUT U.S. ADMINISTRATION`s RECENT STEPS, OFFICIAL
Baku, April 17 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijani society is worried about the recent steps by the U.S. Administration, Chief of the Presidential Administration`s department for socio-political affairs Ali Hasanov said.
“We have repeatedly appealed to various structures of U.S. that you are one of the OSCE Minsk Group`s co-chair country, and you have a decisive position in settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. On the other hand you have launched a peacemaking mission.”
According to Hasanov, the U.S. should be cautious in helping Armenia overcome the difficult economic situation that the country faces.
Hasanov noted U.S. considers Azerbaijan its strategic ally which was the first Muslim country to support Washington in fight against international terrorism. “To take this step official Baku narrowly escaped damage its relations with the Muslim countries,” he added.
He underlined Azerbaijani soldiers participate in the peacemaking process in the world, as well.
Hasanov pointed out Azerbaijan had always taken into consideration the interests of U.S. “But official Washington, not making serious efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, wants to help Armenia overcome the difficult economic crisis.”
He said the situation in Armenia is aggravating day by day as the country, continuing the occupation of Azerbaijan`s territories, has isolated itself from the transnational projects in the region.
“We think that the situation in Armenia could recover when it stops aggressive policy.”
Hasanov underlined all these issues, certainly, “worry the Azerbaijani society.” “That is why no one must be accused of making anti-American remarks.”
“If anyone`s to blame, it`s the Congress and the U.S. administration that adopts decisions under the influence of the Armenian lobby.
The United States does not implement policy towards Azerbaijan as a friend and partner, and that`s why have already started taking adequate steps.
The Azerbaijani authorities and society seek alternative ways to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Hasanov said U.S. co-chairmanship at the OSCE Minsk Group has given nothing to Azerbaijan”.
