BAKU HOSTS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AZERI PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS
Baku, April 16 (AzerTAc). An international conference entitled “2010 Parliamentary Elections in Azerbaijan: more democratic, more transparent” has kicked off in Baku.
The event, initiated by the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan and French NGO “Euroasia – New Horisons”, brings together representatives of the Presidential Administration, MPs, members of the Council of Europe and OSCE PA, experts of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, heads of political parties and representatives of NGOs and journalists.
Speaking to the conference, Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration`s Socio-Political Department Ali Hasanov highlighted the country`s experience of previous elections.
The said the Azeri government had made “considerable steps in organizing just, democratic and transparent elections”.
