AZERBAIJAN ‘DETERMINED’ TO COMPLETELY FULFILL CoE OBLIGATIONS

Baku, 15 April (AzerTAc). “My meetings in Azerbaijan assured me once again that the country is determined to completely fulfill commitments and obligations towards the Council of Europe,” PACE president Mevlut Cavusoglu told journalists. He described the meetings he had in Baku as fruitful.
Cavusoglu expressed satisfaction with the fact that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries he visited as a PACE president.
He said Azerbaijan had been carrying out important reforms since joining the Council of Europe.
The PACE president underlined he would continue to support democratic reforms in Azerbaijan.
On the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, Cavusoglu said he believe they will meet democratic standards.
Speaking of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the PACE president pointed out CoE`s stance on the issue still remains unchanged.
He also added talks were underway to resume the activity of the PACE sub-committee on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
