WORLD LEADERS EXPECTED TO ATTEND POLISH PRESIDENT`S FUNERAL

Baku, April 14 (AzerTAc). US President Barack Obama will attend the funeral of his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski, killed in an air crash in western Russia on Saturday.
The presidents of Russia and France, Dmitry Medvedev and Nicolas Sarkozy, are also due to attend the funeral in the city of Krakow on Sunday.
Mr Kaczynski and his wife Maria will be buried in a crypt close to historic Polish leader Jozef Pilsudski.
The date of the next presidential election is to be announced shortly.
All 96 people aboard the Polish government jet perished when the plane came down in heavy fog while trying to land in the Smolensk region.
They had been travelling to attend a memorial service for Polish military officers and others killed en masse by Stalin`s secret police at Katyn in 1940.
Many of those aboard the plane were top officials in Poland`s defence establishment or prominent figures in other walks of life, and the country is in national mourning.
Acting President Bronislaw Komorowski is due to announce the date of the country`s presidential election, which is expected in May or June.
