Mottaki stresses need for restoration of peace, stability in Kyrgyzstan

Tehran, April 13, IRNA – Iran's Foreign Minister in a phone contact with Interim Head of Kyrgyzstan Government Rosa Otunbayeva Monday stressed Tehran's interest in restoration of peace and stability in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Information and Media Head Office Mottaki added that, “The Islamic Republic of Iran believes restoration of peace and stability in Kyrgyzstan is to the benefit of that country’s people, the region, and the regional nations.”

Pointing out that the emerged situation in Kyrgyzstan is an internal affair of that country, the Iranian top diplomat said, “Iran backs any decision made by the people of Kyrgyzstan.”

Referring to Tehran-Bishkek good ties, Mottaki once again emphasized Tehran’s will for continuation of such excellent ties.

He added, “The Interim Government’s declaring that it would resort to legal means for establishment of peace and order in the country was an appropriate decision that would pave the path for creating the appropriate conditions for reaching consensus among the entire involved parties.”

He sympathized with the bereaved families of the unrests victims announcing Iran’s readiness for forwarding humanitarian aides for the people who are living under harsh circumstances there.

Otunbayeva, too, during the phone talk appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s expressed sympathy and solidarity with the people of Kyrgyzstan.

Elaborating on the latest status of her country, she said that the situation is calm, adding, “The people’s lives has switched back to normal status now.”

The head of the Interim Kyrgyz Government pointing out the interim government has now full control over the situation expressed hope that full establishment of the permanent central government would take place as soon as possible.

Thanking Tehran for having expressed sympathy at hard times with Bishkek, she reiterated that she would convey the Iranian nation’s sympathy to the people and government of Kyrgyzstan.

The Head of the Interim Government of Kyrgyzstan emphasizing the Iran-Kyrgyzstan relations have always been good, expressed hope that the two countries’ excellent ties would also continue in the future./end
