WORLD WRESTLING OFFICIALS PAY TRIBUTE TO AZERBAIJAN`s NATIONAL LEADER
Baku, April 12 (AzerTAc). President of International Wrestling Federation Association (FILA) Raphael Martinetti, head of European Committee of Wrestling Associations (CELA) Tzeno Tzenov and chiefs of foreign wrestling federations have today visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Accompanied by President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Fazil Mammadov, the delegation also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
They then proceeded to the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity. Here they also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
Azerbaijan`s capital will be hosting the European wrestling championship from Tuesday, which will see participation of 383 wrestlers from 36 countries.
