AZERBAIJAN TAKE 5 MEDALS AT EUROPEAN SCHOOL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
Baku, April 12 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan have brought home a clutch of five medals, including three golds from the European School Chess Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The golds came in the Under-9, Under-15 and Under-17 events from Vugar Asadli, Agil Pirverdiyev and Narmin Khalafova respectively.
Khatin Baghirova earned silver for Azerbaijan in the Under-13 event, while Javidan Babazade had to be satisfied with bronze in the same division.
Azerbaijan ranked second in the tournament`s medal table, topped by Turkey. Hosts Greece finished third.
