WAR CRIMINALS WILL BE PUNISHED, AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT
Baku, April 11 (AzerTAc). “Twenty percent of Azerbaijan`s internationally recognized territories have been under occupation by Armenians for almost 20 years. Armenians carried out an ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijanis. They perpetrated genocide in Khojaly. Unfortunately, war criminals have net been yet brought to justice,” said Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev during his speech in Foreign Ministry of Estonia.
The Azerbaijani leader expressed hope war criminals would be “punished for their deeds”.
As a result of the ethnic cleansing policy by Armenia, 750 thousand Azerbaijanis were driven out of not only the Nagorno-Karabakh, but also surrounding regions. All historical monuments, mosques and cemeteries were destroyed in those territories.
