Bahrain backs Iran’s peaceful nuclear drive

Tehran, April 5, IRNA – Bahrain Parliament vice-speaker and head of Iran-Bahrain parliamentary friendship committee Salah Ali Mohammed on Sunday said that it is among legitimate rights of every nation such as Iran to gain access to peaceful nuclear technology.

He made the remarks in a meeting with an Iranian parliamentary delegation which is now visiting Manama.

Manama backs Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities, he said.

He strongly condemned the dual policy of western countries on Iran’s peaceful nuclear drive and exerting pressures on the country.

The western countries are opposed to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities while ignoring the Zionist regime which does not abide by international rules and regulations, he said and strongly condemned such dual approaches.

He called for expansion of all-out relations mainly in the fields of economy and commerce with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Iranian delegation is led by parliamentarian Heshmatollah Falahat-Pisheh, who is also president of the executive council of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union.

In the meeting, Falahat-Pisheh, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to broaden ties and cooperation with its neighboring states.

The western countries try to spread Iranophobia among countries in the region but to no avail, he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran with reliance on its youths has successfully attained nuclear technological know-how and is ready to put it at the disposal of its neighboring states, he said.

A 12-member Iranian parliamentary delegation arrived in Manama Sunday morning to confer with Bahraini officials on international, regional and parliamentary issues.

The trip is due to last for three days during which the two sides are to evaluate ways to promote both parliamentary and bilateral cooperation./end
