AZERI FM MEETS UN SECRETARY GENERAL
Baku, April 1 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
They discussed the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mammadyarov informed the UN chief of current state of negotiations and Azerbaijan`s position on the conflict.
The FM stressed the dispute can be solved only on the basis of international legal norms and the principle of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Ban Ki-moon expressed hope for soonest solution of the conflict, saying it would have a positive impact on the situation in the whole region.
Touching upon results of the “International Donors` Conference Towards a New Future for Haiti”, the UN Secretary General highly praised Azerbaijan`s support on the issue.
They also exchanged views over latest regional developments.
