OCCUPATION OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH ‘HINDERS’ ARMENIAN-TURKISH NORMALIZATION PROCESS
Baku, March 30 (AzerTAc). US Congressman Michael McMahon has said the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh impedes the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement process.
McMahon recently joined the caucus on Azerbaijan at the US Congress and stood against the so-called Armenian genocide.
The Congressman stressed the importance of finding a soonest solution to the dispute, saying it would have positive impact on the process of normalizing relationship between Armenia and Turkey.
McMahon said the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh also prevents Armenia from focusing on one of its major problems, which is poverty.
However, the congressman said there was certain revival in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.
McMahon voiced his support for OSCE Minsk group-proposed principles to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
