AZERBAIJAN AMONG 9 NATIONS IN OBAMA-INSPIRED ‘GLOBAL PULSE’ DIALOGUE

Baku, March 30 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan is among nine nations to take part in a global on-line dialogue inspired by President Barack Oboma`s Cairo “New Beginnings” speech.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted “Global Pulse” events at five deferent venues across the country March 30, 2010, to facilitate discussion between Azerbaijanis and citizens around the world on topics ranging from education to environment, from youth leadership to empowering women.
In Baku, the Embassy`s American Center, located at the University of Languages, held the on-line discussions on youth leadership.
“Global Pulse is all about listening to one another and working together to build a better future,” said Donald Lu, Charge d`affairs of the U.S. Embassy. “Global problems require global solutions, and President Obama has made it a priority to reach out to partners across the globe to seek fresh, new ides.”
Azerbaijan is one of just nine USAID present countries selected as priority among hundreds of countries where USAID works around the globe.
Global Pulse 2010 is a three-day virtual event, aimed at brining together thousands of people from around the globe to discuss the world`s most pressing challenges and envision solutions.
