AZERBAIJAN`S REPRESENTATIVE TO UN TURNS DOWN ARMENIAN KHOJALY ALLEGATIONS
Baku, March 30 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s permanent representative to the United Nations Agshin Mehdiyev has sent a letter in reply to a message on the Khojaly events the Armenian representative sent to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
According to Azerbaijan`s Foreign Ministry, the letter features the atrocities committed by Armenian Armed Forces against civilians in Khojaly and opinions by foreign journalists who witnessed the massacre as well as Armenian intellectuals and militaries who were involved in those events.
The letter says the fact that innocent citizens were killed on February 26 in Khojaly was proved by numerous independent sources and eyewitnesses of the tragedy.
Attached to the letter was Human Rights Watch Executive Director`s message to Armenian foreign minister saying “we consider that Armenian armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh are directly responsible for the killing of the innocent people.”
