AZERBAIJAN-EGYPT RELATIONS “RAPIDLY DEVELOPING”
Baku, March 27 (AzerTAc). Mayor of Qanater Al-Khayriyyah, a city in Egypt, has praised his couttry`s relations with Azerbaijan, saying they were developing “at a rapid pace”.
Naqwa Al-Ashiri, mayor of the city located in the Qalyubia Governorate, said Azerbaijan and Egypt, in particular, enjoy “fruitful cultural cooperation”.
“The two countries have considerably expanded their cultural cooperation. An Egypt-Azerbaijan friendship park in Qalyubia is a vivid evidence of it.”
Al-Ashiri said: “The park, whose total area is 7 hectares, is located 50km away from the center of Qanater Al-Khayriyyah. There is a bronze monument to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev in the park. And it is demonstration of friendship and fraternity between our countries, and it proves that Azerbaijan`s national leader is held in great respect in Egypt.”
The Qanater Al-Khayriyyah Mayor said the park contributes to strengthening “cultural relations” between the two countries.
“Every visitor to this park learns something new about Azerbaijan and its national leader. Visitors can get information about Azerbaijan`s history, culture and traditions from books which are kept at a library after Egypt`s first lady Suzanne Mubarak here,” Al-Ashiri said.
