CIS FMs CONVENE IN MOSCOW
Baku, March 27 (AzerTAc). Foreign chiefs of CIS member states have come together in the Russian capital of Moscow for the next session of the commonwealth`s Council of Foreign Ministers.
The ministers have considered an appeal of CIS presidents to veterans of the WWII and discussed Kazakhstan`s chairmanship of the OSCE, Draft Treaty on European security, and draft anti-corruption agreement. Also high on the agenda have been discussions on holding consultations among CIS member states on the level of foreign ministers and participation of CIS observers in elections to be held this year in member states.
Azerbaijan`s foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov, who attended the meeting, held bilateral discussions with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts on the sidelines of the gathering.
Latest regional developments and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were the dominant theme of Mammadyarov`s meetings.
Settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute was also in focus during Russian FM Sergey Lavrov`s meeting with Armenia`s Edward Nalbandian.
