PACE UNVEILS SPRING SESSION AGENDA

Baku, March 25 (AzerTAc). The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has unveiled the agenda of its spring session due to take place in Paris from 26-30 April.
The agenda includes a wide range of issues, including: Examination of new credentials; Election of a Vice-President of the Assembly with respect to Ukraine; Changes in the membership of committees; Lobbying in a democratic society; Election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights; Fight against extremism: achievements, deficiencies and failures; Associating women in the prevention and the solution of unsolved conflicts in Europe; The impact of the global economic crisis on migration in Europe; Women and the financial and economic crisis; Annual activity report 2009 by the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights; Migrants and refugees: a continuing challenge for the Council of Europe; Honouring of obligations and commitments by Montenegro; Biodiversity and climate change; Euro-Mediterranean region: call for a Council of Europe strategy; and Piracy – a crime and a challenge for democracies.
