Chinese Vice Premier on working visit to Laos
VIENTIANE,MACH 22 (KPL) - President Choummaly Sayasone and Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh of the Lao PDR separately received a courtesy visit of the Vice Premier of China, Mr Hui Liangyu, and his delegation in Vientiane on 20 March.
The two high-ranking Lao officials congratulated the Chinese delegation for their working visit to Laos, which contributed and enhanced cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Mr Choummaly Sayasone gave the Chinese party a briefing on socio-economic development of Laos and how its GDP had increased year after year.
He said that the country enjoyed political stability and the standard of living of Laotians had been on the uptrend.
Mr Choummaly also said that Laos adopted the socialist ideology. Thanks to this, it enjoyed all-round cooperation with China.
The high-ranking Lao and Chinese officials also discussed the nation building processes in the two countries through the socialist path and how it had brought benefits to their respective
peoples.
Mr Hui thanked the Lao high-ranking officials for their warm welcome and congratulated them for their good work on the socio-economic development of Laos.
He also mentioned that because Laos had done an exemplary job in hosting the 25th SEA Games, which had upgraded Laos’s role and prestige in the region and the world over.
During the course of this visit, he also spoke with the Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad and signed an agreement on economic cooperation.
