Public Works and Transport authority urged to heed political ideology
VIENTIANE MACH 18 (KPL) - Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh has urged the Public Works and Transport executive committee to pay more attention to its politically ideological education of its personnel.
“The Public Works and Transport plays an important role in developing infrastructure and the national socio-economic development,” said Mr. Bouasone at the annual meeting of the Public Works and Transport Ministry in Vientiane on 15-18 March.
Present at the meeting was Minister of Public Works and Transport, Mr. Sommad Pholsena.
The Prime Minister urged the participants of the meeting to pay attention to developing the Public Works and Transport sector in line with the 8th Party Congress’ resolution and the 6th five-year socio-economic development plan of the government, attach an importance to the transformation of the country into a transit-nation to facilitate the transportation in the region.
He urged the ministry to improve the quality of the transportation to promote trade and investment, and increase capacity of the domestic transportation companies, further develop roads to facilitate the communication of people, mostly in rural areas.
