FUND OF STATE SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MASS MEDIA AWARDS JOURNALISTS
Baku, March 18 (AzerTAc). Fund of the State Support for Development of Mass Media under President of Azerbaijan awarded a group of journalists on the occasion of Novruz Holiday.
Chairman of the Fund Vugar Safarli said Azerbaijani government attaches high attention to development of press and implementation of different projects. Several projects will be also realized on the eve of the 135th anniversary of Azerbaijani press, Mr. Safarli said.
Head of socio-political department of Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said the government shows concern about development of mass media and improvement of material and technical basis. Main aim of the Fund set up at the initiative of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev is to promote the development of national journalism, said Mr. Hasanov. He said the state budget annually allocates the funds for strengthening of material and technical basis of mass media and this policy will be in further continued.
Member of jury, writer-publicist Ramiz Asker said experts gave preference to articles on development of freedom of speech and press, pluralism, human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan, Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, preservation and popularization of traditions and customs, Novruz holiday, as well as development of ecology and ICT.
