Charity concert to help quake victims in Haiti

VIENTIANE, MACH 12 (KPL) - A charity concert raising fund to help the quake victims in Haiti will be held at the National Cultural Hall, Vientiane Capital on 2 April, according to a press conference held at the Lao Journalists’ Association on 11 March.
The President of the Committee for Peace and Solidarity, Mr. Khamphanh Simmalavong said that, the upcoming concert would be similarly held the previous successful concerts for helping the tsunami victims in Thailand and the victims of tropical storm Ketsana in southernmost provinces of Laos.
Mr. Khamphan added that this concert is to raise fund for helping the victims affected by earthquake in Haiti. The ticket will be sold at the entrance of concert, which costs 10,000 kip per person.
Many well known Lao singers will be invited to entertain audiences. This concert will also be broadcasted which starts at 7 pm.

The concert will be jointly organised by the Committee for Peace and Solidarity, the Lao Journalists’ Association, the Lao Businesswomen’s Association, Handicrafts Association, the Lao Association of Hotels, Restaurants and the Foundation for Helping of Poor People and Lao Red Cross.
