Iran's post-election unrest to come into focus in cinema

TEHRAN, Feb. 23 (MNA) -- A plot spotlighting the Iranian post-election unrest will be featured in a movie in production by Iranian Director Abolqasem Talebi.

Talebi has completed writing the screenplay for the film and shooting will begin in a few months.

No further details were given about the film, which has not been given a title.

The unrest erupted after Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the winner of the June 12 election, which is disputed by his reformist rival Mir-Hossein Mousavi.

Talebi’s good-versus-evil soap opera “Where Are You Going So Hastily” is currently being aired by the IRIB.

In all episodes, the TV series vilifies wealth. Sometimes, it turns into a program propagating governmental plans and in some episodes, it maligns Iranian families who use foreign satellite TV channels.

Talebi was selected for the Fajr festival’s jury in January after several top Iranian cineastes refused to join the group.
