Iran's national Internet network to come on stream
TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (MNA) – The deputy communications minister stated that by establishing the national Internet network in Iran Internet speed will increase significantly.
Mehdi Akhavan said that increasing Internet speed requires building numerous infrastructures, adding that by creating a national Internet network, international Internet traffic in the country will be reduced.
The deputy minister described creating high-speed Internet in the country as one of the main duties of the Communications Ministry.
He added that the president has called on all government bodies to cooperate in preparing the grounds by the end of the Iranian Fifth Development Plan (2015) to carry out services electronically in the country for the obvious reason of curtailing costs.
