Pakistan closely work with Canada to strengthen relations

Islamabad, June 24 PPI: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed strong desire of Pakistan's government to work closely with Canada to strengthen relations between two countries.

Talking to outgoing Canadian High Commissioner David B Collin here Monday, he said
Pakistan wants to improve its ties with Canada in all fields including defence, trade and investment.

Pakistan wants stable and peaceful Afghanistan as it will help promote economic
development in the region. ``We also want early repatriation of Afghan refugees to
their country with dignity and honour.''

About illegal cross border movement, Gilani said government has taken several
measures including setting up 900 check posts and bio-metric system along Pak-Afghan border.

Pakistan is also ready to fence the border with Afghanistan and appreciated Canadian help in this connection, he stated.
