Astana, February 12 2009, Khabar - This visit is scheduled for May 2010, announced the Minister for Foreign affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu who has been received by Nursultan Nazarbayev. The diplomat noted that Ankara pins great hopes on the upcoming talks in Astana. Last October Nursultan Nazarbayev and Abdullah Gul signed in Ankara agreement on strategic partnership.

Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey:
- The agreement on strategic partnership singed in October 2009 during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Turkey advanced the Kazakh-Turkish cooperation on a new quality level.

Nursultan Nazarbayev invited his Turkish colleague Abdullah Gul to visit Kazakhstan and he accepted this offer.

Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:
- Relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey are developing at a very high level and the breakthrough arrangements we reached last October can be a proof of it. Earlier, we met in the city of Nakhichivan where an important step towards the development of cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries was taken as well.

Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey:
- Dear, Mr. President, thanks to your powerful leadership and far-sighted policy, our relations advanced to the highest possible level.

As of today, annual commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey exceeds 1.4 billion US dollars. The expansion of economic relations is believed to be one of the priority directions of bilateral cooperation. Apart from that, issues of cultural and human relations are under a special control of both presidents. One more important point of joint agenda for Astana and Ankara is said to be the Turkic language integration. Kazakhstan and Turkey are known to hold the same view on this matter.

Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey:
- Turkey has shown full support to Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiatives which he brought up at a recent summit of heads of Turkic states in the city of Nakhichivan. First of all, it applies to suggestions on the creation of both Turkic council and Turkic academy. We’ve decided that the secretariat of the cooperation council will be based in Istanbul whereas the new academy will open in Kazakhstan.

Ahmet Davutoglu has announced today that Turkey will be extending cooperation with Kazakhstan within international organizations. Great hopes are being pinned on the upcoming meeting of Nursultan Nazarbayev and Abdullah Gul in Kazakhstan. The sides are preparing a number of important documents for signing. In particular, Turkey expressed willingness to render assistance to Kazakhstani citizens in those countries where Kazakhstan does not have its own diplomatic representatives. Kazakh nationals will be able to turn to Turkish embassies and consulates for assistance in such countries in the future.
