SERBIA ‘BACKS’ AZERBAIJAN`s STANCE ON NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT
Serbia`s incoming ambassador in Baku has said his country supports Azerbaijan`s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Vladimir Curgus met Azeri foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov to hand him over a copy of his credentials on Wednesday.
“We want the dispute to be solved on the basis of the integrity of Azerbaijan`s territories,” said Curgus.
The ambassador also thanked the Azeri government for supporting Serbia`s territorial integrity.
Curgus vowed he would “spare no efforts” to contribute to expanding the bilateral cooperation, particularly in the political, economic and cultural fields.
Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan planned to open its embassy in Serbia, expressing confidence it would contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations.
