PRIVATE SECTOR MAKES UP 85% OF AZERBAIJAN`S GDP

Baku, February 7 (AzerTAc). Despite the share of the private sector was less than 10% in the GDP, it rose to 85% in 2009, according to Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev. About 70% of population is working in the private sector. The private sector`s share constitutes 91% in the industry, 67% in construction, 99.8% in agriculture and 78% in transport.
According to the minister, these facts suggest that Azerbaijan is no longer a transition economy.
