FIRST MEETING OF ECO HEALTH MINISTERS WRAPS UP IN BAKU

Baku, February 6 (AzerTAc). The first meeting of ECO health ministers has ended here.
The event brought together representatives from 10 countries.
Addressing the final day of the meeting, Azerbaijani Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev spoke of the accomplishments in healthcare sector in the country.
He said new medical centers and hospitals meeting international standards had been built in Azerbaijan. According to him, various relevant programs are being carried out across the country.
The minister pointed out the first meeting of ECO health ministers would “contribute to expanding cooperation among member countries.”
ECO`s Secretary General Mohammad Yahya Maroofi underscored the importance of the meeting.
He praised the ongoing projects in healthcare sector in Azerbaijan.
Yahya Maroofi also noted that other countries should use Azerbaijan`s relevant experience.
Other speakers at the event stressed the importance of healthcare cooperation among ECO member states.
The event culminated in adoption of Baku Declaration.
The participants proposed to hold the next meeting in Kazakhstan.
