JAPAN GOVERNMENT ASSISTS TO IMPROVE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY IN AZERBAIJAN`S VILLAGE
Baku, February 3 (AzerTAc). The hand-over ceremony for the “Construction of Drinkable Water Supply Facilities and Improvement of Irrigation Canal in Boyuk Bahmanli village of Fizuli Region” has been held in the Boyuk Bahmanli village of Fizuli region as part of the “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Program” of the Government of Japan.
The Grant Contract of the project was signed on October 9, 2009 between the Embassy of Japan and “PRAXIS” Support to Social Development Public Union. The aim of the project is to improve water facilities in THE Boyuk Bahmanli village. The number of direct beneficiaries from the project is 6264 persons and cost of the project is USD 97,000.
“Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Program” launched in 2000 supports relatively small projects implemented by municipalities, medical institutions, academic institutes and NGOs to directly improve living standards of Azerbaijani people.
