Iranian Revolution, key event in world's history: Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 3, IRNA – Pakistani religious leaders have described the Iranian Islamic Revolution as a major event in history and paid homage to (late) Imam Khomeini for his role in leading the nation in difficult times.

Talking to IRNA with a reference to the 31st anniversary of the Revolution they extended their facilitations to the government and people of Iran.

Tehreek-e-Jaferia Pakistan Chief Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said that the Iranian Islamic Revolution has a major role in solving the problems of the Iranian nation.

"Now Iran because of the struggle of its nation has been able to achieve status of a respectable nation around the world", he said.

Sajid Ali Naqvi was of the view that the Revolution has changed the approach of entire Iranian society. "The Revolution had transforming effect on the Iranian nation", he opined.

He was of the view that the Revoluation had dispelled many misconceptions against Islam and depicted the true face of Islam.

The religious leader said that Imam Khomeini with his great struggle had forced the Iranian nation to start Islamic Revolution.

He said that the Iranian people despite the Western propaganda has been celebrating the 31st anniversary of the Revolution which is a great achievement.

He said that only because of the Islamic Revolution people of different sects of Islam come close to each other.

"The Revolution had shown a right path to the Iranian nation in difficult times", said Sajid Ali Naqvi.

“We here in Pakistan are also following the footsteps of Imam Khomeini and it is because of his teachings that there is no sectarian divide in Pakistan”, he added.

He opined that the Revolution also showed that politics and religion are interlinked.

Former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad expressing his views said that Imam Khomeini with his great struggle had forced the Iranian nation to start Islamic revolution.

The religious leader termed the Islamic Revolution as one of the important revolutions of the twentieth century. "It was in fact Peoples' Revolution", he added.

He added that Imam Khomeini gave a true concept of Islam and set an example for the other Muslim countries.

He viewed that the Revolution fulfilled the aspirations of the people as Imam Khomeini refused to yield before the Western powers.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that other nations of world should learn from the struggle of the Iranian nation.

The religious leaders congratulated the people of Iran and their government for upholding the torch of Imam Khomeini.
