SOCAR, DEPA DISCUSS COOPERATIVE OPPORTUNITIES
Baku, February 1 (AzerTAc). SOCAR`s president Rovnag Abdullayev has today met chairman of the board of directors of the Public Gas Corporation of Greece (DEPA) Harry Sachinis to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two companies.
Abdullayev praised the relationship between Azerbaijan and Greece.
He briefed Sachinis on the ongoing energy reforms in his country, “as a result of which”, he said, “Azerbaijan has become an exporter of natural gas.”
Abdullayev added his country exports gas to four of its neighbors.
He also underlined realization of the Shahdeniz gas and condensate development project would allow Azerbaijan to transport gas to Europe.
Sachinis, in turn, said his current visit would contribute to deepening cooperation between DEPA and SOCAR.
He hailed the accomplishments in Azerbaijan`s energy sector.
Sachinis also reiterated his country`s interest to buy gas from Azerbaijan.
