Iran: 2010 revolution anniversary message, end of hegemony

Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that the message of this year's anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution (February 11) is that hegemony and oppression would come to an end.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of his visit to the mausoleum of Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini, in southern Tehran.

President Ahmadinejad and his cabinet members visited the late Imam’s shrine to renew their allegiance with the ideals of the Father of the Islamic Revolution at the beginning of the Dahey-e Fajr (Ten-Day-Dawn) ceremonies which mark the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.

"Iranians would completely disappoint enemies of the country by commemorating this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution," the president told reporters.

He said that he felt proud of serving the great Iranian nation./end
