15 members of financial corruption network busted in Iran
TEHRAN, Jan. 30 (MNA) -- Iranian intelligence agents have arrested 15 members of a financial corruption network based in one of the western satellite towns of Tehran.
The mayor of the town, which was not identified, and three members of its city council were among the people arrested.
They were charged with financial corruption and misappropriation of government funds.
They confessed to receiving bribes, counterfeiting documents, embezzling money from the municipality’s funds, and misappropriating over $500,000 of government funds.
