EU TO DEVELOP AGREEMENT ON SIMPLIFICATION OF VISA REGIME WITH AZERBAIJAN
Baku, 30 January (AzerTAc). In comparison with other initiatives and programs, the “Eastern Partnership” develops enough quickly, Poland`s Foreign Ministry official Andrzej Cheshkovski said.
At his words, today Ukraine is very close to signing of the agreement on integration to EU what can happen even current year. Similar negotiations were started with Moldova, and the relevant negotiations with the countries of Caucasus are underway.
“As to Belarus, it is very active”, he stressed, adding that negotiations today are carried out on simplification of visa regime for citizens of this country.
“Negotiations on simplification of visa regime with Georgia are already completed, and we are going to develop similar agreement with Azerbaijan and Armenia. Prior to the beginning of the ”Eastern Partnership” Action Plan, nobody in EU thought on associated agreements with Azerbaijan and Armenia. And now, there is a chance for this. It is an example of how the “Eastern Partnership” calls EU for more courageous approach to questions on cooperation with neighbors in the East”, Cheshkovski emphasized.
