Laos ready to host 17th meeting of ASEAN head of custom department

(KPL) - Mr. Khamboun Inpenglatsbou, Head of International Co-operation Division, Custom Department, Ministry of Finance disclosed recently that the preparation of Laos for hosting the 17th ASEAN Head of Custom Department so far is ready.

Mr. Khamboun added that the meeting which is schedule to be held in
Vientiane from 17-19 June, will discuss about the co-operation among ASEAN
member countries, its dialogue partners and technical supporters. The
meeting will also provide an opportunity to all participants to exchange
the experience with ASEAN Business Association.

During the meeting, the past one year activities of ASEAN will be reviewed
and the strategic plan for ASEAN Custom toward 2015, particularly the
service for import and export sector will be informed. The meeting will
also talk about the contents of ASEAN custom, form for custom declaration
and other related issues, especially the one-stop service system for custom
declaration of ASEAN which Laos will be able to implementing from 2012.

Mr. Khamboun added that the meeting would be the significant event for Laos
because ASEAN member countries and other international organisation give
trust to Laos, especially in the field of financial sector.
