Lao President receives Vietnamese Vice-President
(KPL) Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Republic, on 16 January received at the Presidential Palace a courtesy visit of Vietnam’s Vice-President Nguyen Thi Doan.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan and her delegation arrived in Vientiane on 15 January to attend a Vietnam-Laos special cultural exchange programme held at the Lao National Culture Hall on 15 January to mark the 35th anniversary of the two countries’ friendship associations.
Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, on the occasion, described the visit to Laos by the Vietnamese delegation a contribution to the consolidation of the special friendly relations and all-round co-operation between the parties, states and people of the two nations. He also expressed thanks to the Vietnamese leaders and people for their great assistances to the Lao PDR in the past and present time.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan expressed thanks to President Choummaly Sayasone for his warm welcome and informed him of the result of the meeting between her delegation and the Vice-President of the Lao PDR which the two sides have agreed to further develop the friendly relationship fruitfully.
