Al-Arab Affirms Qatar's Leadership in Hosting International Conferences

Doha, June 23 (QNA) - In its Thursday editorial, Al-Arab newspaper highlighted Doha's hosting the second edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, under the slogan "Equalizing Global Recovery", over the past three days. The newspaper stressed that the Qatar Economic Forum's transformation into a forum that includes a huge crowd of global competencies and expertise is not strange to Doha, which has become a global capital for major conferences and forums. The forum is an ideal platform to support the country's strategic direction to achieve economic growth by reviewing the country's promising development plans in vital and productive sectors, it added. Al-Arab pointed out that the forum highlighted the vital role that Qatar plays in leading the economic recovery phase from the effects of COVID-19. It also noted that the fruitful discussions that the Economic Forum witnessed will help create more understanding between world leaders representing different sectors, including governance and information technology, especially since the forum is a new global platform for exchanging ideas and experiences and offering solutions to create more economic stability. The newspaper said that the forum's agenda covered all the global economy issues in post-pandemic, and set a starting point for a new global economy capable of facing difficulties. The importance of the forum emerged from several aspects, the most important of which was the timing as it came in light of the largest health and economic crisis that befell the world in decades with the outbreak of the COVID-19 and its impact on the economic sector globally, and the emergence of new economic patterns that the world seeks to take advantage of in the post-pandemic stage, the paper underlined. Al-Arab considered that the large international participation of economists, officials, and executives of major global companies, demonstrated the desire to reach a starting point to eliminate the COVID-19 impact on the global economy, and that the forum sessions covered all pillars of the economy, both in terms of trade and linking it to energy, investment, modern technology, or the general perspective of consumers. In conclusion, Al-Arab pointed out that a large number of Qatari officials reviewed, during the Qatar Economic Forum, the most important advantages provided by the Qatari business environment to attract foreign investments, the continuous Qatari endeavor to facilitate the establishment of investment projects, and the many incentives offered by the State of Qatar to the business environment, which makes it a leading investment destination regionally and globally.
