Al-Sharq: Qatar, France Enjoy Developing Historic Partnership

Doha, January 25 (QNA) - Al-Sharq daily newspaper affirmed, in its Monday editorial, the historic partnership between Qatar and France, which is characterized by continuous development, and a long record of cooperation, coordination and dialogue, whether through mutual visits or other communications, referring in this regard to the phone call that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held Sunday evening with HE President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron. The paper stated that during the call, there were congratulations on the occasion of the Gulf reconciliation and the positive results of the 41st GCC Summit, as well as consultations on bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of supporting and strengthening them and developments on the regional and international arenas. Al-Sharq added that the continuous coordination and consultation between the two countries on many international and regional files has always been the goal of common actions that serve security, stability and the interests of the people of the region. In 2020, the bilateral ties between Qatar and France witnessed a strong momentum, as Qatar-France Year of Culture 2020 was launched to enhance cooperation between museums and cultural societies in the two countries, the paper said, adding that these relations are witnessing fruitful cooperation in many areas, such as defense cooperation, combating terrorism, trade and economic, educational, cultural, sports exchange and others. Al Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the credit for consolidating and strengthening relations of cooperation and partnership between Qatar and France is due to the strong political will of both countries, the sharing of vision on many files and issues in the region and the world, and the two countries' awareness of the importance of upgrading bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership in all fields, for the benefit, growth and prosperity of the two countries' people.
