Foreign Minister inaugurates Bahrain Festival for Innovation, Creativity, from Manama to Matera
Manama, May 11 (BNA): Under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, "the Bahrain Festival for Innovation and Creativity, from Manama to Matera" organized by the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women was held today at the Federation’s premises. In his inaugural speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his pleasure to attend this important festival, which reflects the constant care accorded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Bahraini youth and women to boost their status, and the great efforts of His Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). The Minister also highlighted their work on providing all aspects of excellence and creativity for women and youth in all sectors, notably in the economic areas and the labor market to be a benefit and an important asset for the ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable development goals in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Minister of Foreign Affairs commended the great efforts exerted by the President of the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women, and the Ambassador of Innovation and Creativity, Shaikha Hend bint Salman Al Khalifa, for organizing this festival, and her remarkable contributions to achieve the mission of the federation in enhancing the role of women and the youth, and providing entrepreneurs with an environment exuding creativity, as well as creating new opportunities for promising national cadres, and strengthening productivity and competencies, in addition to enabling the emerging institutions to carry out their roles in the best way possible to serve the national economy. He also commended the efforts exerted by the Head of United Nations Industrial Development Organization - Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO-ITPO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Hashim Hussein, in organizing and making this event successful. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa expressed his sincere happiness for the excellent organization of this festival, which further proves the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women’s ability to organize such events, thus highlighting its significance that correlates with promoting culture and investment among craftsmen and cultural entrepreneurs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Italian city of Matera. He also pointed out how this event enhances cooperation with the Italian Republic, therefore reflecting the Kingdom of Bahrain’s policy in communicating with the countries of the world for the benefit of all and to promote common interests. The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will remain supportive of the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women in its efforts at the domestic and the international levels, in the Ministry’s belief of the value of these efforts in advancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s development, and the importance of cooperation amongst all state and civil society intuitions, wishing an abundance of success for the festival and all the activities and programs of the Federation. President of the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women, Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, expressed her utmost gratitude for the attendees of the festival, recalling her visit at the invitation of UNIDO to the Republic of Italy, city of Matera in 2015, the city that was chosen as the European Capital of Culture 2019, where she was bestowed the title of Ambassador of Innovation and Creativity by the United Nations. The President of the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain will visit Matera again in September, with the participation of a group of artists in painting and sculpture, gold and handicraft. She also expressed her appreciation of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), in its pivotal role and unwavering support to the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women, and extended her thanks to the UNIDO offices for their cooperation and support. The festival included booths dedicated to Bahraini and Italian work of art, which included cooking, handicrafts, photography, calligraphy, and others.
