CHINA TO RENDER TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO PROTECT GOBI BEAR

Ulaanbaatar/ MONTSAME/ A ceremony of signing an agreement on preserving Mongolian Gobi bear (mazaalai) and rendering technical support with non-refundable aid of the Chinese Government took place at the Embassy of the Republic of China in Mongolia on April 18. The agreement was signed by Head of Environment and Natural Resource Administration at the Ministry of Environment and Tourism G.Nyamdavaa. and Commercial Counsellor Sun Weiren. During the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism Ts.Batbayar and Charge d'affaires Yang Qingdong delivered congratulatory speeches. In accordance with the agreement, a project worth CNY 11.63 million will be realized for three years. The Chinese side in cooperation with Mongolia will conduct numerous researches covering environment management, ecological quality assessment, plant population and biological diversity monitoring. Moreover, field trainings will be organized for technical staffs and professionals, necessary equipment as well 20 thousand tons of wheat will be provided annually to feed the Gobi beat. E.Altanzul
