Libyan minister willing to see Turkish teachers and schools in his country

TRIPOLI (A.A) - February 23, 2012 - Libya's minister of higher education expressed willingness on Thursday to see Turkish teachers and schools in his country. Naim Ghariani said Libya wanted to see Turkish teachers and schools as well as Turkish students, and education system would be freer and more modern in new and free Libya. "The current and upcoming government have certain projects," Ghariani told AA correspondent in an exclusive interview in Tripoli. Ghariani said 500,000 of 6 million Libyan population were students, and Libyan government would set up a certain budget for every student. The minister said Libya would provide African and European students with education opportunities, and was therefore planning to construct dormitories and campuses. Ghariani said Turkish companies had 27 education projects in Libya worth 10 million USD, and some of them were ongoing projects. "We will visit Turkey to increase mutual education projects," Ghariani said. Ghariani also said he hoped Turkish students would receive education in Libya in the future.
