Post-flood garbage in Bangkok to be cleared by year end
BANGKOK, December 26 (TNA) - Thai Deputy Prime Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit vowed on Monday that tonnes of post-flood garbage in Bangkok will be cleared by the end of this year.
Yongyuth, who is Interior Minister concurrently, insisted that the post-flood garbage in the capital will disappear by the end of this month, as representatives from other provinces have been mobilized to help clear the huge wastes, one province's garbage collectors tasked with one district in the city.
According to the deputy premier, the overall situation in Bangkok has returned to normal following recent floods in some parts, except some fields and farmlands where floodwater have remained and agencies concerned are quickly drying out the areas by the end of January 2012.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, in the meantime, has ordered the Bureau of the Budget to urgently disburse approved state budget for post-flood rehabilitation and assistance to affected households. (TNA)
