Honda destroys over 1,000 flooded vehicles

BANGKOK, December 27 (TNA) - Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has started to destroy over 1,000 flooded vehicles at the Rojana Industrial Park in the central Ayutthaya Province. The destruction covers 1,055 brand-new but flooded Honda vehicles of various types which could not be timely moved out of the industrial estate before recent flooding, comprising 217 Brio cars, 213 Jazz cars, 353 City cars, 150 Civic cars, 91 Accord sedans, 30 CR-V vehicles and one Freed car. Pitak Pruttisarikorn, Senior Executive Vice President of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ensured the public Tuesday that the destruction was supervised by Honda staffs and concerned government officials, aimed at preventing sales or use of any flooded Honda parts, saying that Honda will post chassis and engine serial numbers of all the destroyed automobiles on its website so that customers can check and be confident of Honda products available. The Honda plant in Ayutthaya's Uthai District was among many manufacturing plants heavily damaged by deep floodwater at the Rojana Industrial Park recently and the affected plants are now undergoing rehabilitation.
